Thanks for your comment, Erin!

The Statewide Voluntary Preschool funds would provide at least 10 hours of free preschool to students who are 4 years old.

A lot of the things that are required we already do - a licensed teacher in the room, the assistant with a CDA, health and safety requirements, etc.

Changes that would take place would be home visits, following Creative Curriculum a little more closely. We would need a new playground - which we are currently working on through fundraisers and grants.

As more things come to mind, I will update! :)

We're Off!

Ok, I had intended to work on this sooner, but we all know how that goes! We are in our fourth week of school and it's already flying by!

Mr. Pillman, Mrs. Miller-Hornbuckle, and I met today to start brainstorming what we need to do this upcoming year to prepare to apply for the Statewide Voluntary Preschool Funds (SVP) for the 2010-2011 school year! We will be having three community meetings - one in Oct, Jan, and March. Child Care will be provided during the meetings and agendas will come out at a later time.

We are working on an online survey for families to complete about their preschool needs. Everyone is encouraged to be involved in this process! Please leave ideas and input!

Have a great rest of the week!

The school-agers made it to Adventureland! I as type this, it just started raining, but they are going to finish out their trip!

We are going to be taking the infants and toddlers to the zoo next Friday with the preschoolers and school-agers! If you're a parent reading this, there will be a permission sheet on your chart!

Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day!

Wow!

Ok - I am hoping this is as easy as it looks! The purpose of this blog is to help parents be more informed about what is happening in the McCallsburg Preschool & Child Care Center. Right now, registration is under way for the Fall Preschool Classes. Please contact me if you would like enrollment papers.

The summer camp is going along smoothly! We have an upcoming field trip to Adventureland and then the Zoo! Everyone is staying busy.

As you probaly have heard, Colo-Nesco did not receive the Statewide Voluntary Preschool Grant. :( Look for information early this fall on how we can get ready to apply for next year!

We currently have openings in all rooms for children children ages 6 weeks to school-age! We would love to give you a tour!
